With this win, Fodens Motor Works secured a hat-trick of National Championship victories, their second consecutive hat-trick, and were barred from competing in the 1939 championship. The championships for 1939 to 1944 (inclusive) were cancelled due to World War II and the bar was applied for the 1945 contest instead.
